Pirastro P41A221 violin string A-2 medium, synthetic core, aluminum

The Pirastro P41A221 A-string violin delivers a balanced tone and a direct feel thanks to a synthetic core and a strong aluminum wrap. With A-2 gauge (medium), it offers sufficient tension for sharp articulations without compromising playing comfort during long rehearsals. The string responds predictably to both lyrical melodies and faster passages, making it suitable for both classical pieces and contemporary repertoire.

What truly sets this string apart is its combination of stability and expressiveness: the synthetic core maintains intonation under temperature and humidity fluctuations, while the aluminum winding adds brightness and projection without evaporating in the upper registers. This makes the P41A221 a reliable choice for violinists seeking consistent performance and less tuning fatigue. Tip: Pair with a suitable E string and check after changing whether the tone and timbre are even across the strings.
